Sorry, wreath making classes for 2020/2021 have finished. Come back next Christmas!

How to Water your Wreath

Watering your wreath regularly will keep it looking fresh and alive for longer.
  1. Check your wreath is fresh. Artificial wreaths do not need to be watered.
  2. Fill your tub with about 5cm of cold water.
  3. Lay your wreath in the tub and allow to soak for around 2 hours.
  4. Drain the tub, and stand your wreath to drip-dry for around 3 hours.
  5. Hang your wreath, and repeat every 2 days.
  6. For a longer lasting wreath, lie it flat and water every 5 days.

Tips on How to Create the Perfect Wreath

  1. Your wreath is 3 dimensional, consider looking at it from all angles, including sides. Not just from the front on view when constructing.
  2. If you intend to hang your wreath outside, use weather appropriate decorations.
  3. Bows can go on the side if you like. Make sure your bow has a generous “tail”.
  4. Attach all bows to the main frame of the wreath with wire.
  5. Add fresh blooms and herbs that will dry closer to Christmas – for fragrance and looks.
  6. Ensure all attached berries and blooms are fastened on well to the main frame. Use additional small wire for additional fastening.
  7. Don’t cut stems of added berries. Work them into the frame. This way they can be taken out and used somewhere else next year for a fresh look.
  8. Use your Christmas wreath on your front door. Take it down for Christmas and use it as a centrepiece with the addition of a pillar candle in the middle. Add some foliage for flowers, real or artificial.
  9. If you would like an elevated arrangement, stand the wreath on a tall glass vase. Fill bottom of the vase with a few complimentary Christmas baubles to carry the theme through.
  10. Store your wreath in the bag. Add a lavender bag or clove bag for beautiful fragrance next year!
